MANAGEMENT
Chacho's is very selective about managers.  Our restaurants are so busy and so complex that many managers simply can't do a good job here.    We have hundreds of products on our menu, all made from scratch throughout the day, and we often have more than 40 employees on duty.  To be successful, our managers must be smart, energetic, and able to mentally focus for many consecutive hours. Many people simply can't keep up, physically or mentally . 
However, for those who can, we may be the best quick service restaurant to work for in the restaurant industry.  We offer high pay rates, outstanding benefits, a reasonable work week with two or three consecutive days off each week, and a winning restaurant filled with the best equipment, systems and people.  Once a manager successfully works here, he or she usually will never want to work at any other restaurant.
We also are open minded about an applicant's back ground. We do not necessarily prefer restaurant experience or any specific education, although fast food experience is usually helpful.  We are willing to consider you if all you have ever done is be a housewife, a construction worker, a bread route delivery person, or an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas.
But we require that you be smart, hard working, caring about and talented with people, moral and honest, and the type of person we all want to be around. 
Intelligence is very important to us. Our selection process consists of a series of tests and interviews.  In general, if you do not have above average intelligence, you probably won't get by the first test and are probably wasting your time applying with us. But you never know. Our tests are designed to see if you can decide whether we need to cook more beans, not do brain surgery.
Are you smart enough?   Obviously if you made good grades in school or generally scored well on tests, you probably have the brains.  However, even if your grades were less than stellar but if school would have been easy for you had you applied yourself, or if you could always ace a test if you studied, you've undoubtedly got the brains also.  Many people are smarter than they realize.
Are you hard working enough?  If you can stand on your feet for 10 or 12 hours a day, moving around like crazy, thinking constantly, you've got what it takes.  If you need to sit down frequently, or if you need regular smoke breaks, or if you are unhappy eating while standing up, or if several hours of continuous hard mental focus give you a headache,  forget about coming here.  On busy days our managers might not get a break all day long, and they always need to be on top of a diverse restaurant.  Our managers wear out their shoe soles but not their pants seat bottoms.  We have designed a system in which managers spend almost no time doing paperwork, so our managers almost never sit down.
Can you be a good people leader?  If you really care about people and you like to be in charge with responsibilities, you can do it. We do not require a leadership background but you will need to feel comfortable being the person in charge after you have been trained and know what you are doing.
